100 Ways to Cope With Stress – Day 23 – Tickle a baby

Have you ever tickled a baby or watched one being tickled? Here is a link to see a baby tickled if you’ve never had the pleasure of doing it yourself: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DtPECZzQrmA&feature=related.

Tickling a baby is a real stress reliever because it produces laughter and the Bible says in Proverbs 17:22 – A merry heart doeth good like a medicine.

Nowadays there are special laughing yoga groups. I would very much like to join one of them. Here is another good link about the benefits of laughing as a stress reliever – http://stress.about.com/od/stresshealth/a/laughter.htm.

“Research has shown health benefits of laughter ranging from strengthening the immune system to reducing food cravings to increasing one’s threshold for pain. There’s even an emerging therapeutic field known as humor therapy to help people heal more quickly, among other things.”

Ha ha! God knew this from day one! Why do you think He instilled within us the ability to laugh? The joke’s on mankind, not God!  We should laugh more, especially during stressful times because, as they say, Laughter IS the best medicine!

  1. Thanks for stopping by my blog. I very much agree with what you said about writing certain scenes for the glory of God and and with keeping in mind what readers might be feeling or thinking in response.

It’s been a number of years since we had a baby in the house, but making them laugh was a great boost.
